I would start with a 14 or 15 tooth pinion and then monitor motor temps and see how it goes.

Hello all... New to the board. I used to race 1/10 back in the day. Now getting started with an rc18t.

Can someone remind me...bigger pinion means more torque, less speed and lower temps right?

...or is there some other factor here I'm missing?

Bigger pinion or smaller spur = higher speed, less torque, higher temps
Smaller pinion or bigger spur = opposite
